Philippe The Sweep is a HETAS Registered chimney sweep, installer, and service technician based on the Essex–Suffolk border in Castle Hedingham, covering both counties.
With around 20 years’ experience in construction and a background as a firefighter, Philippe brings a safety-first, no-corners-cut approach to fireplaces, stoves, and chimneys. He’s seen first-hand what happens when systems aren’t installed or maintained correctly—so every job is done properly, safely, and to current standards.
From wood burner and multi-fuel stove installations to sweeping, servicing, and inspections, each service is tailored to the individual property and appliance. Chimney Sweeping
Whether your fire or stove has a brick chimney, a flue liner or a rigid metal twin wall flue system, we have a method to clean it! Using a combination of traditional and modern techniques and equipment, including the latest in dust extraction we guarantee not to drop a spec of soot in your home. With continued maintenance of training, we meet and exceed industry standards, and are able to issue you with, that all important certificate at the end of every service
Installation and Servicing
To make sure appliances work safely and efficiently, it’s important that installation and servicing is carried out by a properly trained and registered competent person. That's where we come in. Incorporating customers tastes, we use a range of local suppliers of stoves and materials to create a bespoke installation to the highest standards - improving the function and character of their home. To top it off, we ensure adherence to the latest building regulations, including local authority notification, and make sure customers are provided with a "Certificate of Compliance" from HETAS at the end.
Our Services
Prices shown are a guide only, as every property is priced individually. A multi-sweep discount is available for homes with more than one fireplace. In some cases, additional charges may apply for particularly complex sweeps.
STANDARD SWEEP - STOVES, SMALL OPEN FIRES

Large open fires, inglenooks and very tall chimneys.

NEST REMOVAL
Nest removal services are only available from Sept 1st to Jan 31s due to the wildlife and countryside act 1981.
